Colours In Branding

When it comes to choosing a colour or colours for your brand, it’s important to understand what each colour represents in the business space before making a choice.

Let me paint a scenario, I spoke with a small business owner and asked him what his brand colours(white and sky blue) represent, he said white represents God has his source and the sky blue represents earth(I was shocked), so l probed further, asking him what he meant by that. He said that the sky blue represents the climate, global warming and other climatic conditions.

So l had to enlighten him on what sky blue represents in the business space, specifically his business. I was like since you run a school business, sky blue should represent things like, ‘the sky is just the starting point, always aim high, think big, dare the impossible’.

I did not forget to let him know that green represents the earth and anything that has to do with its preservation, moreover, he runs a school, and his concern should be excellence not earth preservation.🙂

I know some small business owners ignorantly choose brand colours based on the fact that they like the colours not necessarily because of what they mean in the business space.

I hope your brand colour(s) represents ‘the about’ of your business.🙂
